The Commission for Equal Opportunities for Women and Men in the Municipality of Delchevo strongly condemns the brutal violence that occurred against a woman in Delchevo by a man who rudely broke into the victim's home in the early morning hours of October 31 and committed a crime that could cause far-reaching consequences for the victim.
Expressing disgust with the cruel act of harassing a woman in the home, we call on the law enforcement authorities to take this crime of violence against women as seriously as possible and to impose the maximum punishment for the perpetrator, because this violence that took place in Delchevo affects all women. on their safety and security at home.
In Delchevo we must not allow criminal and sick minds to disturb the peace, to destroy a woman's self-confidence, to cause stigmatization, negative perception and other negative phenomena that discriminate against women in a modern democratic society, where we talk about human rights and freedoms.
Delchevo does not remember this form of physical violence against a woman living alone, and although rape as a form of violence is present in all societies and in all social strata, and the roots of violence lie in that constant discrimination against women, this statistical formulation should not to be a justification and amortization of the serious issue that is imposed, but a field for greater work of the civil society organizations in Delchevo and the prevention department at the Ministry of Interior.
As the CEO, we will follow the case with dedication and react accordingly in order for the victim to receive the necessary help and support, but also for this type of physical violence against women not to be repeated.
Trajkovski: Delchevo is not and must not be a scene from a Hollywood horror movie
The reactions with condemnation continue, after the rape that happened on Saturday against a woman from Delchevo. Condemnation for the monstrous act was expressed today by Delcevo Mayor Goran Trajkovski, who called on the competent authorities to conduct the case as professionally as possible and to impose the maximum punishment for the perpetrator.
– Delchevo is in shock after the unfortunate event, where a man physically abused a woman in her home. I condemn this monstrous act and call on the authorities to handle the case as professionally as possible and to impose the maximum punishment on the perpetrator, which will be an example for all others who dare to reach out and inflict physical and psychological pain on a woman. As mayor, together with the Commission for Equal Opportunities, we will give all the necessary help and support to the victim to cope with the consequences of the horrific physical and psychological abuse, said Trajkovski.

– This is especially true of violence against women, with perpetrators undermining their self-esteem, causing negative perceptions and discriminating against women. Together with the Commission for Equal Opportunities in the Municipality of Delchevo we will closely monitor the development of the case, and together with the civil society organizations in Delchevo and the Sector for Prevention at the Ministry of Interior together with the CEO will work on this issue in order to prevent such future cases, added Trajkovski in his reaction.
Apart from the mayor and the Commission for Equal Opportunities in the municipality of Delchevo, several civil society organizations and individuals have recently come out to condemn the heinous act. The rape of a woman by the police was registered on October 31 this year, and after reporting the rape by a relative of the attacked woman, the police detained 24-year-old BJ from Delchevo.
